In these 2 dacades, Japanese Media likes to focus on Japan as No.1, but these No.1 items are almost discusting ones.
For example, "the MC presenting on TV for the longest time in the world" as you know, and so on.
Is this appropriate news for Japanese citizens to let them know Japan as No.1?

What is TV?
What is Mass Media?
I believe TV is a tool which tells world condition or the varaeties of thought in the world in fair. Then I believe mass media should be responsible for it.
Except NHK, most of ground analog TV companies are free for Japanese people.
Then most people in Japan have been growing up while watching TV.
People are easy to believe in what TV says and to accept the news.
This is a big issue for education.
I'm afraid of how many children find out those programs are not worth of watching.
Also, I'm afraid of how many adults can tell those children who are losing inteligence what news should be attentioned.
Chilren can absorb a lot of knowledge for the future.
We, as a person with responsibility for education to children, should concern about the current situation.
We have to tell children more qualified news like the current world condition than who is the MC presenting on TV for the longest time in the world.

この２０年くらい、日本のメディアはNo.1の日本に焦点を当てるのが好きですが、これらNo.1の内容はほとんどつまらないものです。
例えば、あなたも良く知っているような『世界で一番長くテレビに出ている司会』とかいうものです。
これは、No.1の日本ということを知らせるものとして適切でしょうか？
テレビとは何でしょう？
マスメディアとは何でしょう？
私は、テレビとは、世界のさまざまな考え方や世界情勢を公平に伝えるツールの一つだと考えています。
ですから、マスメディアとは、その責任を担っているものであると考えます。
ＮＨＫを除いて、ほとんどの地上波アナログテレビ会社は、無料です。
だから、ほとんどの人々は、テレビを見て育ってきます。
人々はテレビが伝えることを信じやすいし、受け入れやすいものです。
それは、教育における大きな問題です。
私は、どれだけの子供達が、それらの番組が見るに値しないものであることに気づけるのか心配します。
また、どれだけの大人が、『知』を失いかけている子供達に、どんな情報に注意を払うべきかを伝えられるのかに大しても心配しています。
子供達は、未来に向けてたくさんの知識を吸収できます。
子供達への教育に対して責務がある私達は、現在の状況について気にかける必要があります。
私達は、子供達に対して、誰が世界で一番テレビに出演している司会なのかといった情報よりも、現在の世界情勢のようなもっと質の高いニュースを伝えなければなりません。
