IMD, International Institute of Management Development, has published the IMD’s World Competitiveness Yearbook 2007.
Japan has been in 24th overpassed by China, Malaysia, or Taiwan as Asian Countries, and some European countries such as Germany or United Kingdom have returned into the top 20s.

IMD has researched from 4 fields with 323 items, "Macro Economy", "Effectiveness of the government", "Effectiveness of Business", and "Inflation".
Japan has downed its ranking position in all 4 fields.
Especially, the points for effectivenss of the government has been worse, and the impact for macro economy has reflected the decrease of investment against Japan.
On the other hand, China, even though it has problem for the effectiveness of business", has climbed up the ranking position because of still the hot spot for the world topics as business and environmental issues.
Every country has to consider "national interest" for the citizens of the country.
Therefore, sometimes the international law or the protocol of Kyoto, for example, which most people think great idea, have been lost its original purpose by each national interest.
Well, why don't you stop running ahead for a moment?
Then think,
"Do we have to go ahead in hurry like today for what?"
"Do we need more development? convenience?"
or
"Is it the good moment to think again for the life of world peice and smiles?"

ＩＭＤ (経営開発国際研究所）が２００７年世界競争力年間を発表しました。
日本は、アジアの国々としては中国、マレーシア、や台湾などにも抜かれて２４位、そしてヨーロッパの国々ではドイツや英国がトップ２０位内に復活してきました。
ＩＭＤは『マクロ経済』、『政府の効率性』、『ビジネスの効率性』、そして『インフラ』の４分野、３２３項目から調査を行います。
日本は、４分野全てでポジションを下げました。
特に、政府の効率性についてのポイントは悪化していて、マクロ経済のインパクトは、対日投資の減少に影響を及ぼしています。
一方で、（ビジネスの効率性では問題を抱えるものの）中国はランキングを上げています。それは、ビジネスや環境問題での世界トピックとしてホットスポットであったりするためです。
全ての国は、その国の国民のために『国益』というものを考慮しなければなりません。
それで、ときどきほとんどの人は良いアイデアだと思っている国際法や京都議定書（例）などは、それぞれの国益によって当初の目的を失ったりします。
さて、少し前に向かって走り続けるのを止めてみませんか？
そして、考えてみましょう。
『何のために今日のように急いで前進しなければならいのですか？』
『私達は、今以上の発展を、利便性が必要なのでしょうか？』
それとも、
『世界の平和と笑顔がある生活のために考え直す良い時ではないですか？』
