Most Sustainable Corporations in the World - The Global 100 presented The 2007 List.
The top country which most many corporations are ranked in is England (24 companies).
Then the United States of America is ranked as No.2 with 19 companies.
What do you think about Japan's position on this ranking?

The Global 100 is the partnership project between Corporate Knights Inc. and Innovest Strategic Value Advisers Inc.
This ranking has been counted the 3rd year this time.
There are 5 Japanese companies ranked in continuously for 3 years; that is, Toyota Motor Corp., NTT Docomo Inc., Ricoh Company Limited, Kuraray Company Limited, and Denso corp..
Also, Nomura Holdings Inc. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited are ranked in this year for the first time.
On the other hand, Matsushita Electric Industrial Inc. and 4 other companies are ranked out this time.
As the result, Japan is ranked as No.3 with 15 companies ranked in this list.
This kind of ranking has its own methodology, so sometimes these companies are listed diversely.
However, evern though the methodology is diversed, the corporate value is based upon the mind of people working for a company.
Each one person may not be great, but when the group of people who have the ambitious mind to make their company and society better is organized, peole around the group can feel "possibility" for the bright future.
Such the group of the people may be called, "the best and the brightest".

『世界で最も持続可能性のある企業100社』 The Global 100 が、２００７年のリストを発表しました。
もっとも多くの会社がランク・インしているトップの国は、英国で２４社。
それから、アメリカ合衆国が、１９社で２番目にランクされていました。
日本のポジションは、このランキングでどのくらいだと思いますか？
The Global 100 は、Corporate Knights Inc. と Innovest Strategic Value Adviser Inc. との間で行われているパートナーシップ・プロジェクトです。
このランキングは、今回３回目を数えます。
日本の５社（トヨタ自動車、ＮＴＴドコモ、リコー、クラレ、デンソー）は、３年連続でランクインされています。
また、野村ホールディングスと三菱重工が今年初めてランクインされました。
一方で、今回は、松下電器産業と他４社がランクから外れています。
結果として、日本はこのリストに１５社をランクインさせて３位となっています。
それぞれ一人が偉大ではないかもしれません。
でも、会社と社会を良くしようと思う大志を持つ人々のグループが組織されたとき、そのグループの周りにいる人々は、明るい未来に対して『可能性』を感じることができるでしょう。
そのような人々のグループが、『ベスト＆ブライテスト（最良で聡明な人々）』と呼ばれるかもしれませんね。
