The World Economic Forum is started in Davos, Switherland, from today through the 28th of January.
The theme is "Shaping the global agenda: the shifting power equation."
Do you have any opinion for the world economy?

According to the homepage by the World Economic Forum, "The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas."
For Example, this forum presents the Global Competitiveness Ranking, and so on.
According to the latest report published in September, 2006, the top ten was the follows;
- Switherland
- Finland
- Sweden
- Denmark
- Singapore
- U.S.
- Japan
- Germany
- Netherland
- U.K.
US has been dropped down from No.1 to No.6 this time because of the macroeconomic inbalances.
Switherland is placed on No.1 for first time on the other hand because it has enough market volume, the technological innovation, and well-developed R&D environment.
John Stuart Mil, who was a philosopher and econimist in UK (1806-1873) says,
"The worth of a State, in the long run, is the worth of the individuals composing it".
Japan is ranked up from No.10 in 2005 to No.7 in 2006.

テーマは、『世界的議題を具体化する：移行する力の均衡点』です。
あなたは、世界経済に何か意見はありますか？
世界経済フォーラムのホームページによれば、『世界経済フォーラムは、世界的な、地域的な、そして業界の課題を具体化するために、リーダーたちがパートナーシップを組みことで、世界の状態を向上させるために存在する独立した国際組織』となっています。
例えば、このフォーラムは『経済競争力報告』などがあります。
2006年9月に出版された最新のレポートでは、トップ10は以下の通りです；

アメリカ合衆国は、マクロ経済の不均衡が理由で、今回1位から6位にランクを下げました。
スイスは、一方で、初めて1位になりました。それは、スイスが十分なマーケット市場があり、技術革新があり、そして、十分に発展したR&D環境があるためとなっています。
ジョン・スチュアート・ミル、イギリスの哲学者であり、経済学者（1806-1873) は、こう言っています。

日本は、2005年に10位であったのが、2006年（今回）は7位に上がっています。
